You could say that Angelic Kindness was born on a cold January day many years ago when two young girls sat next to each other in 2ndgrade home room beginning a lifelong friendship. The girls grew inseparable, practically living in each other’s homes and developing bonds with the two most important people in their lives – their mothers.
Ma (Mary’s) and Mama (Debbie’s) both grew up at near poverty levels. Both endured hardships that would destroy lesser people, but they used their experiences to create the best lives they could for their children. They instilled many of their own values into their daughters; a strong work ethic, always act with honestly and integrity and above all else, in any situation, just be kind.
Much like their mothers, Debbie and Mary have not lived storied lives. They’ve both experienced the death of a spouse, job loss, health scares and they’ve both lost their parents to cancer. But the one thing that got them through the troubling times was to remember what their mothers taught them – just be kind.
They took on charitable endeavors of all sizes but it was the smaller acts of kindness that filled their hearts the most. Whether buying a meal for the homeless or making masks during COVID-19, they were able to see the tangible impact that a small act could have.
One night over a bottle of wine (they do like their wine), commiserating about how the world seems to have become so ugly, the two talked about their mothers and wondering how they would handle life in this crazy world. They talked about ways they could honor their mother’s lives through a legacy of kindness. Being their mother’s daughters, they decided to not just talk about it but to actually do something – forming Angelic Kindness was the action they decided to take.
The sole purpose of Angelic Kindness is to impact lives through simple acts of kindness, asking nothing in return. That alone honors their mothers, but they are also memorialized in the logo - a daisy (Debbie’s) and a butterfly (Mary’s). These symbols will always serve as a reminder to…
JUST BE KIND!
